Information:

Located in the Fraijanes region in Guatemala, known for
its volcanic rich soil, La Pila is where Rodolfo and Reina
grow and process their coffee. The high elevation of
their farm contributes to the coffee’s bright acidity and
complexity.
Rodolfo has been working in coffee his whole life and
inherited his farm at 25 years. The name “La Pila” comes
from a cement water tank Rodolfo built after discovering
a rare water source on his land. In a region where water
is scarce , this feature became not just an essential res‐
source but aso a defining symbol of his farm.
Thanks to his passion and dedication to innovation, he
keeps on pushing the quality of his coffees through pro‐
cesses and equipment he invented, like for instance a
bicyle powered depulping system.
Natural Guatemalan micro‐lots like this coffee are un‐
common, especially from farms this small and sustain‐
ability‐minded. We are grateful to secure a coffee from
La Pila for the second year in a row and strengthen this relation.
